Kast vs Metricool: managing brands or selling under your own name

Prices checked on September 23, 2026 at metricool.com/pricing.

Metricool is probably the most complete tool in this comparison. It handles around ten networks, Meta, Google and TikTok ads, client reports and competitor monitoring. If your job is running brand accounts, it does the work and Kast has nothing to put up against it.

The comparison only makes sense in one specific case: you're a B2B founder, consultant or freelancer, you post under your own name, and you're looking for clients rather than a dashboard.

Pricing, checked on September 23, 2026

Metricool offers a free plan with one brand, then Starter from 16 € a month for five brands and 29 € for ten, then Advanced from 43 € for fifteen brands, 69 € for twenty-five and 130 € for fifty. There's a custom plan beyond that. The Advanced plan gives you access to the API, Zapier, Make and the Looker Studio connector.

Kast lists Starter at 29 €, Pro at 49 € and Agency at 149 €, with a 7-day free trial and a card required at sign-up.

Metricool's pricing scales with the number of brands you manage. Ours scales with features, because a founder only has one brand: their own.

Two products built for different jobs

Metricool answers the question "what's happening on my accounts". It pulls together stats from ten networks, tracks competitors, measures ad campaigns and produces a monthly report you send to the client.

Kast answers a different question: "did what I posted this week bring me anything". It scores the post before it goes out, schedules it, then gathers the people who engaged, with their job title and company, and exports them to Lemlist, Instantly or a file.

A community manager needs the first. A consultant selling their expertise needs the second.

This table doesn't pick a winner. It shows two products aimed at different work.

What Metricool does that we won't

Network coverage. Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Google Business Profile, Twitch. If your week is spent feeding six platforms for three clients, Kast will slow you down.

Ads. Metricool shows Meta, Google and TikTok campaigns next to organic, which is valuable when you're deciding where the budget goes. We don't touch paid campaigns.

Reports. A firm that bills for community management needs a clean monthly PDF. Metricool produces it in two clicks, with the Looker Studio connector on the Advanced plan.

Automation. They have the API, Zapier and Make. We don't yet, and we'd rather say so than let you think otherwise.

What Kast does that Metricool doesn't

The score before publishing. Four criteria: hook, structure, CTA and voice, with the flaw pointed out and a targeted rewrite. A dashboard tells you after the fact that a post underperformed. The score tells you while you can still change it.

Writing in your voice. Plume starts from your projects and your past posts, not a generic template. It suggests a first draft, you make the call.

Engagement capture. You paste the URL of a post, yours or a competitor's, and you get the list of people who liked or commented, with their job title and company.

Export to outreach. Lemlist, Instantly or CSV. That's the moment content stops being a visibility expense.

The dashboard trap

An analytics tool gives you a feeling of control. You see your charts, your reach, your engagement rate, your best times to post. Plenty of founders spend half an hour a week there, and it's half an hour that produces zero meetings.

Three numbers are enough when you post to sell. The number of people who engage and fit your target, the number of conversations started in the days that follow, and the post behind each one. The first two don't appear in any standard dashboard. Neither does the third, and yet it's the only one that tells you what to do again.

Three real-world situations

A social media agency with eight clients across five networks.

Metricool, no question. The Advanced plan at 43 € for fifteen brands is hard to beat, and client reports are included.

A B2B founder who posts on LinkedIn and X.

Metricool will schedule their posts just fine, without ever telling them whether the post was good or who read it. Kast is built for this case.

A consultant with both needs.

Some keep Metricool for brand accounts and Kast for their personal account. The two don't step on each other as long as the scopes stay separate.

Frequently asked questions

Their 16 € entry plan charges for five brands and gives you stats. Ours at 29 € charges for scoring before publishing and engagement capture. If all you want is scheduling, their free plan is more than enough.
It's not planned any time soon. Our scoring is calibrated for text, which doesn't mean the same thing on a video platform.
Not today. There's no public API and no outgoing webhook. Export goes to Lemlist, Instantly or CSV.
Not on the same thing. Metricool tracks your competitors' accounts and their stats. Kast captures the people who engaged with a competitor's post, with their job title and company.
No, if your two scopes are separate. Yes, if you only manage your own account, because the two subscriptions would overlap on scheduling.

Making the call

Choose Metricool if you manage brands, multiple networks and ad budgets.

Choose Kast if you are the brand, you post in B2B, and the dashboard matters less to you than the names of the people who read you.

The simplest way is still to compare for yourself.
