Kast vs Hootsuite: the enterprise suite or the founder's tool

Prices checked on September 23, 2026 at hootsuite.com/plans.

Hootsuite is the oldest player in the category, and today it's built for established marketing teams. Their pricing page lists a Standard plan at $99, Professional at $199 and Advanced going up to $399, with custom offers beyond that.

Kast starts at 29 € and tops out at 149 € on the Agency plan. It's a different price range, and the two tools don't meet the same need.

What you pay for with Hootsuite

A very broad base: publishing to around ten networks, a unified inbox for comments and messages, social listening, roles and approvals, detailed reports and, more recently, assisted creation features.

For a team of five running a company's presence, that base makes sense. The Standard plan's $99 a month compares to the cost of half a day's work.

For a consultant who posts twice a week under their own name, the same money mostly buys features they'll never open.

The question to ask before you compare

Hootsuite measures a brand's presence. How many mentions, how many replies, how fast they're handled, what the sentiment is. Those are customer service and communications metrics.

Kast measures what content brings in for someone who sells expertise. Who engaged, who fits the target, which post started the conversation.

If nobody DMs you after your posts, a unified inbox won't do anything for you. If you get a hundred comments a day on a brand page, capturing engagement isn't your problem.

What Hootsuite does that we won't

Social listening at scale, multi-level approvals, crisis management, reports for a leadership team, coverage of consumer social networks.

We also have no public API and no Zapier or Make connector, whereas Hootsuite plugs into an enterprise software stack.

What Kast does that Hootsuite doesn't

Voice calibration on your own writing. The score on four criteria before publishing. Capturing the people who liked or commented on a post, with their job title and company, and exporting them to Lemlist, Instantly or a file.

Plus six free tools, no account needed, including the post analyzer and the generic content detector.

Three real-world situations

A 200-person company with a marketing team.

Hootsuite or a similar suite. Kast isn't built for that.

A consulting firm with three partners who each post under their own name.

Three Kast accounts cost less than one Hootsuite Standard plan, and fit the real need better.

An agency handling personal branding for ten executives.

Kast's Agency plan keeps one voice per client and exports the leads. Hootsuite will handle the related company pages better.

Publishing happens from a profile. To run a brand page with lots of incoming comments, a general-purpose suite is still the better fit.
Rarely. Companies that use both split the scope: the suite for the brand page, Kast for the executives' profiles.
