Kast vs AuthoredUp: formatting or judgment

Prices checked on September 23, 2026 at authoredup.com/pricing.

AuthoredUp is a browser extension that grew into a full tool, and it's very popular with regular LinkedIn creators. Its strength comes down to one word: preview. You see exactly how your post will look on mobile and desktop before you send it, including the famous "see more" cutoff.

Form and substance

AuthoredUp answers a question of form: is my post readable, cut in the right place, well laid out. It's a real question, and plenty of posts fail for that reason.

Kast answers a question of substance: does this post deserve to be published. Does the hook hold in one line, does the structure carry the reader to the end, is there a CTA, does the text sound like you.

The two complement each other more than they compete. Our free analyzer actually covers part of AuthoredUp's ground, since it checks length, the cutoff and readability along with the substance.

What's missing after you publish

AuthoredUp shows solid analytics on your posts: impressions, reactions, comments, trends over time. Those numbers are still just numbers.

With Kast, a published post becomes a list of people, with their job title and company, that you can export to Lemlist, Instantly or a CSV file. A consultant who spots two sales directors among the twenty people who commented has made their week.

What AuthoredUp does better

The preview, no contest. Rich formatting, with special characters that display properly on LinkedIn. Organizing drafts with tags. A trial with no credit card, which we don't offer.

And the entry price, about ten euros lower than ours.

Three real-world situations

A LinkedIn creator who posts every day and cares about layout.

AuthoredUp covers exactly that need.

A founder who posts once a week and is looking for clients.

A preview won't change anything about their problem. Knowing who engaged will.

An agency with ten client profiles.

AuthoredUp's Business plan at $12.46 per profile costs less than our Agency plan. In exchange, voices aren't calibrated separately and leads aren't exported.
